The Queensland Government supports students' education by providing funding for: Instruction, (teachers) Facilities, (buildings, amenities, furniture) and Administration, (staffing and resources to administer the operations of the school).
State funding does not extend to individual student resources such as textbooks, computer or musical equipment for personal use, and many items used/consumed by the student in the classroom. Supply of these items is the responsibility of parents.
To provide parents with a cost-effective alternative to purchasing resources elsewhere, Wilston State School operates an SRS. The Department encourages parents to participate in the scheme. Participation in the SRS is optional, and no obligation is placed on you to participate. Participation is for the duration of your child's enrolment at the school. The scheme ensures that students have the resources required for them to engage with the curriculum for their education, and saves parents time and money in sourcing the prescribed materials elsewhere.
SRS inclusions and costs
All resources that your child will require for the school year have been included in the SRS, including consumables, licences and reproduced materials. These items will be delivered/managed by the school and you will have nothing further to purchase or provide.
Partition Forms and Payment Method
You will receive an online consent form to complete and return through QParents.
The preferred payment method for SRS payments is via QParents or via the link on the invoice to Bpoint. Please do not make payment until the invoice is received.
Financial Hardship/ Payment Arrangements
Parents experiencing financial hardship should contact the school. A single payment or termly payments can be made, or a payment plan can be negotiated. Any unpaid invoices, will be managed according to the department's Debt Management Procedure.
