Homework is not mandatory.
Parents decide what is done and how it is done within their family household to
- allow sufficient time for family recreation, and community and cultural activities
- students are not disadvantaged by the lack of access to resources such as devices and the internet
Homework distributed by classroom teachers is differentiated to meet the needs of the student.
Reading Homework
When reading with students, it is sometimes challenging to think of questions to ask them when checking for understanding. Below are two documents that will help you. These questions are generic and can be applied to any book you have read to your child or any book they have read independently. What we love about these questions is you don't have to be familiar with the book to gauge whether or not they have understood what they have read/heard.
