Step 1

Please note that Wilston State School has an enrolment catchment area which means that families are required to live within our catchment area to attend the school.

Step 2

Please view the School enrolment management plans policy for further information.

Step 3

When enrolling, parents/caregivers will need to provide:

  • An original birth certificate or passport (these will be copied after sighting)
  • Proof of their address within our school catchment area

Step 4

Prep enrolment packs for 2019 (in catchment) are now available from the school office.

Prep enrolments

Children will need to be 5 years old by the 30 June in the year they start in the preparatory class. Education Queensland’s prep ready reckoner is a tool you can use to determine when your child can begin prep.

Children whose birthday falls in the month of July (5 years old by 31 July in that year) or have attended school in another state or country, may be able to commence Prep early if they are assessed by the school principal as being ready for school.

These are the only circumstances in which early entry to Prep is permitted under Queensland legislation.

Out of Catchment Waiting List - Prep 2019

The out of catchment waiting list will open from 9.30am on Tuesday 13 March 2018.  Names can be placed on this list by phoning the school on 3552 8444.  Your child's name and information will be recorded on the waiting list in order of receipt and no calls will be taken prior to this time.  We often receive a high volume of calls, so your patience is appreciated.  Information received on the answering machine will not be accepted.

A position on the waiting list does not guarantee a Prep placement at Wilston State School in 2019.  Typically offers for any out of catchment places are not made until Semester Two.
